The General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) has reminded that decorating vehicles with elements to support the Spanish team during the World Cup, such as flags or stickers on mirrors or windshields, can incur fines of up to 200 euros in Tenerife if they compromise the driver's visibility.

Traffic regulations, while not prohibiting vehicle decoration for sports team support, do require that any placed accessory does not reduce the driver's visibility or interfere with essential driving elements. Article 19.1 of the General Traffic Regulations specifies that the vehicle's glazed surface must always allow the driver clear visibility of the entire road, without interference from films or adhesives.
During sporting competitions, it is common to see decorations on mirrors, such as covers, ribbons, or flags. If these hinder vision or limit the field of view, drivers can be fined. Similarly, objects hanging from the interior mirror that distract or limit vision can also be grounds for an infraction.
Fines for these infractions can reach 200 euros, although they do not involve loss of points. Traffic officers impose these fines when they consider that the adornment compromises road safety or poses a risk to circulation. The DGT emphasizes that cheering for Spain is compatible with driving safely, and recommends exercising extreme caution and respecting regulations to avoid fines and ensure safety.
