The regional competition, scheduled from April 17 to 19 in Puerto de la Cruz and Santa Úrsula, was officially presented last Monday at the Salón Noble of the Cabildo de Tenerife.
The Tenerife team, current champions, will defend their title at home against teams from La Palma, Gran Canaria, El Hierro, Fuerteventura, and Lanzarote. A large public turnout is expected for the preliminary and semifinal phases, which will take place on Friday and Saturday at the Santiago Yanes 'terrero' in Puerto de la Cruz, culminating with the grand final on Sunday in Santa Úrsula.
The tournament is divided into two groups: Group A, comprising El Hierro, Gran Canaria, and La Palma; and Group B, with Fuerteventura, Tenerife, and Lanzarote. The group stage will commence on Friday, April 17, at the Terrero Santiago Yanes with matches between Tenerife-Lanzarote (11:00 AM) and subsequently Gran Canaria-La Palma. In the afternoon, Fuerteventura vs Tenerife (5:00 PM) and La Palma-El Hierro will compete. This inaugural round will conclude on Saturday, April 18, with two more matches: Lanzarote-Fuerteventura (10:00 AM) and then El Hierro-Gran Canaria.
The semifinals will be held on Saturday afternoon at the same 'terrero' in Puerto de la Cruz, pitting the first-place teams from each group against the second-place teams from the other league. Semifinal C1 (1st Group A – 2nd Group B) will be at 5:00 PM, followed by Semifinal C2 (1st Group B – 2nd Group A) at 6:30 PM. The tournament champion will be determined on Sunday, starting at 11:00 AM, with the grand final at the Terrero José Álvarez Gutiérrez in Santa Úrsula.
The event's presentation was attended by prominent figures such as the president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Rosa Dávila; the vice president and Tourism Counselor, Lope Afonso; the Sports Counselor, Yolanda Moliné; the president of the Canarian Wrestling Federation, Francisco Rivero; and the president of the Tenerife Island Canarian Wrestling Federation, Tanausú Estévez.
