A medical team from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) assisted a birth in a home in Los Realejos, Tenerife, attending to the mother and newborn at the residence before coordinating a safe transfer to the hospital.

The incident occurred recently when the emergency dispatch center received a late-night alert reporting that a woman had given birth at her home. The baby's father, acting as the caller, maintained telephone contact with an SUC health coordinator, who provided initial instructions on how to proceed after the birth.
Through this telephone assessment, the healthcare professional confirmed that both the mother and the newborn were in good condition. Subsequently, an advanced life support ambulance was dispatched to the residence for a face-to-face evaluation and necessary medical assistance.
Upon arrival at the home, a team consisting of a doctor, a nurse, and a health emergency technician assessed the clinical condition of both. After verifying their stability, they completed the delivery phase, including the expulsion of the placenta without complications.

The father was able to actively participate by cutting the umbilical cord once the delivery was completed.

After concluding the home assistance, the ambulance personnel prepared the mother and baby for transfer, following established protocols. Concurrently, contact was made with the hospital's Obstetrics, Midwifery, and Gynecology departments to ensure continuity of care and specialized attention upon their arrival.
The transfer was carried out under safe conditions, after the medical team confirmed the adequate clinical status of both.
