The future Punta Brava Coastal Park, located in Puerto de la Cruz, is set to become an emblematic intervention within the island's 'Tenerife y el Mar 2026-2030' program, which will allocate 9.6 million euros to enhance the island's coastal areas.

This initiative, approved by the Cabildo de Tenerife, aims to transform and organize the coastline of Punta Brava, a unique area next to Loro Parque, known for its natural lava pools and rugged landscape. The goal is to improve the use and accessibility of this coastal stretch while always respecting its environmental and scenic value.
The first phase of the project will cover the area between Punta Brava Beach and Tegueste Street, and the necessary land for its execution has already been secured. This action gains particular relevance due to the sanitation problems that the Punta Brava area has recently faced, linked to the situation of the nearby Playa Jardín.

"This program is a fundamental pillar for sustainably developing coastal resources, strengthening the quality of the destination, and ensuring its conservation for future generations."

Lope Afonso · Vice President and Tourism Counselor
The 'Tenerife y el Mar' program envisages a total investment of 9,640,142 euros for the five-year period 2026-2030. Of this amount, 8.1 million will be contributed by the island corporation, while the municipalities will contribute approximately 1.4 million euros. This island strategy for the coast includes about twenty actions distributed across various municipalities on the island.
Among the planned interventions are the conditioning of San Marcos beach and El Caletón in Garachico, the improvement of the Martiánez Promenade in Puerto de la Cruz, access points to Los Patos in La Orotava, and the organization of the coastal front of El Pris and La Barranquera in Tacoronte. Accesses to Las Gaviotas and Valleseco in Santa Cruz will also be adapted, and the wooden promenade of El Médano and Los Abrigos in Granadilla will be renovated. The plan also covers coastal areas in Adeje, Arico, Arona, Guía de Isora, and Santiago del Teide, among other municipalities, seeking an equitable distribution of investment to enhance both the tourist value and public use of the entire Tenerife coastline.
