A Fred. Olsen ferry operating the route between Los Cristianos, in southern Tenerife, and La Palma, sustained damage to 14 vehicles on board due to heavy swell with waves up to four meters high.

The incident occurred on the night of last Friday, April 10, when the sea journey was impacted by adverse conditions. The northern sea presented waves that reached four meters in height, causing significant movements of the vessel.
The shipping company has confirmed that, as a result of these turbulent conditions, a total of 14 vehicles were affected. The high waves caused pitching and rolling of the ship, leading to displacements of up to 30 centimeters for some of the cars.
The company has assured that it will handle the processing and management of the damages incurred. Contact with affected passengers to coordinate repairs is expected to begin on Monday, according to sources from Fred. Olsen.
This event coincides with a pre-alert for coastal phenomena in the Canary Islands, activated since 13:00 on Friday by the General Directorate of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands, due to northern or northwestern swell with waves of 3 to 4 meters in height.
