The initiative focuses on three fundamental pillars: simplifying administrative procedures, adopting digital tools in workshops, and effectively transferring knowledge between master artisans and new apprentices. The goal is to transform craftsmanship into a competitive economic activity capable of generating stable employment on the Island.
A key component is the Master-Apprentice program, which aims to prevent the loss of traditional techniques through direct training. Furthermore, the plan includes the creation of a Craftsmanship Observatory and talent incubators to foster innovation while maintaining traditional manufacturing processes.
As part of this launch, the Island Council awarded twelve new artisan licenses following a technical evaluation process held at the Ibero-American Museum of Craftsmanship of Tenerife. The new licensees cover various disciplines, ranging from ceramics and jewelry to traditional boat carpentry and weaving.
To improve commercialization, the strategy includes the use of consumer vouchers, the creation of tourist routes linked to workshops, and the development of digital sales platforms. These measures aim to promote the Canarian Craftsmanship brand in external markets, consolidating the cultural and economic value of local products.
