The island of Tenerife will experience intense heat this Wednesday, with maximum temperatures potentially reaching 37 degrees Celsius in the western, southern, and eastern midlands, according to the forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

The day will be characterized by clear skies and a light dust haze at altitude. Temperatures will remain high across much of the island, generally exceeding 30-32 degrees Celsius, except for the northern coast where morning cloud cover and northerly winds will moderate the conditions.
The hottest areas will be concentrated in the western, southern, and eastern midlands, where highs of 34 degrees Celsius are expected, with isolated peaks potentially reaching 37 degrees Celsius. The capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, will also feel the heat, with forecasts placing the day's temperatures between 23 and 32 degrees Celsius.
Nights will also be warm, with nighttime temperatures potentially staying close to 25 degrees Celsius in the most affected areas. In the northern midlands, maximum temperatures will range between 30 and 33 degrees Celsius, with the possibility of locally reaching 34 degrees Celsius, while areas below 300-500 meters will enjoy milder temperatures.
Winds will blow from the north in Tenerife, being light to moderate from the west in the peaks, with greater intensity at high altitudes of Teide. Breezes are expected on the northern and western coasts.
The heat will not be exclusive to Tenerife. Across the Canary Islands, generalized highs of 30-33 degrees Celsius are forecast, except for the northern coasts. Gran Canaria will record the most extreme temperatures, with potential peaks of 40 degrees Celsius in the basins of Tejeda and Tirajana, and nighttime lows barely dropping below 26-28 degrees Celsius. Lanzarote and Fuerteventura could reach 37 degrees Celsius in the southern and eastern interior, while La Gomera, El Hierro, and La Palma will also experience high temperatures, exceeding 34 degrees Celsius in midlands and high areas.
