The National Police has incorporated 95 new officers in Tenerife, the majority of the 130 new recruits assigned to the Canary Islands, to strengthen prevention, investigation, and citizen assistance.

The island of Tenerife has received 95 new national police officers, accounting for nearly three out of every four officers joining the Archipelago. Of these, around fifty will be assigned to the Provincial Police Station of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 40 to Tenerife Sur, two to Puerto de la Cruz, and three to Tenerife South Airport.
This police reinforcement represents a significant influx of personnel to the island. The remaining new officers in the Canary Islands are distributed between Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura), with 23 officers, and Arrecife (Lanzarote), with 12.
The new officers have completed their training at the National Police School in Ávila and have undergone a year of practical training. They are now beginning their permanent assignments to enhance prevention, investigation, police response, and citizen assistance.
In addition to the 95 new recruits, the National Police is also adding 46 officers from a general merit-based transfer process, moving from other units to Canary Islands departments. In total, 176 officers are joining the Archipelago, although the detailed distribution of these latter 46 has not yet been specified.
