A group of parents and dance enthusiasts in Tenerife, aged over 35, have achieved a historic milestone by securing third place in the national Urban Display championship held in Barcelona.

Inspired by accompanying their children to urban dance competitions, a group of parents and other dance enthusiasts in Tenerife decided to try their hand at learning choreography and complex styles. The academy En Paralelo, with locations in Candelaria and La Laguna, and soon opening in Santa Cruz, has provided them with the opportunity to pursue their passion.
Every Friday, for an hour and a half, these dancers over 35 gather to rehearse and disconnect from daily worries. Their dedication and effort culminated on May 3rd, when the Premium group from En Paralelo made history for Tenerife.
In the prestigious Urban Display championship, held in Barcelona, the Tenerife team secured third place, thus earning the island its first national medal in this adult urban dance category.
