Pope León XIV's visit to Tenerife on June 12 will cause significant traffic and mobility restrictions in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, affecting access routes and the port area.

On June 12, the visit of Pope León XIV to Tenerife will trigger a large-scale mobility operation in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, featuring substantial restrictions on access roads, street closures, and parking limitations. The City Council has devised a special plan impacting key capital routes and the port vicinity, where a massive mass is scheduled.
Mobility measures will commence in the early morning and extend until early afternoon, coinciding with the pontiff's movements and the planned events. Authorities strongly advise against using private vehicles and recommend prioritizing public transport to ease circulation.
The port area will be the focal point of the restrictions. The 'zero zone' for the event, situated between the Juan Sebastián Elcano roundabout and the Monument to the Victory, will be closed to traffic from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM. This will affect avenues such as Constitución, Marítima, and Francisco La Roche, along with streets near the papal venue.
Between 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM, additional dynamic closures will be in place for the papal entourage's procession. Affected routes include Manuel Hermoso Rojas Avenue, Mayor José Emilio García Gómez, La Salle Avenue, Galcerán, Méndez Núñez, El Pilar, Villalba Hervás, La Marina, Plaza de España, Marítima Avenue, and Constitución Avenue, as well as port access points.
Furthermore, specific closures will be implemented on sections of roads like the TF-24, TF-5, TF-13, and TF-152 during various time slots between 8:45 AM and 2:30 PM to ensure the safety and smooth flow of movements.
The right lane of the TF-4 road, in both directions, will be designated for authorized vehicles and buses from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Parking prohibitions will extend to numerous streets, including Áurea Díaz Flores Hernández, Leoncio Rodríguez, Cervantes, José Rodríguez Ramírez, Méndez Núñez, El Pilar, Villalba Hervás, La Marina, Plaza del Cabildo, Marítima Avenue, Tres de Mayo Avenue, Adán Martín Menis, Ermita de Regla, Víctor Zurita Soler, José Martí Avenue, and in front of the Bus Interchange. Parking at the Parque Marítimo, Palmetum, and the interchange esplanade will also be affected.
Parking restrictions will also apply near the Police Station on Robayna street, as well as on Jesús y María, Pérez de Rozas, Bravo Murillo Avenue, and José Manuel Guimerá street.
Regarding public transport, Anaga lines (910, 916, 917, 945, 946, and 947) will start and end at the Muelle Norte stop, with a shuttle service operating between the Interchange and Muelle Norte. The tram will alter its route, terminating at Ángel Guimerá street and Plaza La Paz at different times.
Following the event's conclusion, the operation will continue for the Pope's transfer to the airport, with temporary closures on the port exit, Los Llanos service road, Constitución Avenue, Tres de Mayo tunnel, and the link to the TF-5.
Authorities advise planning travel in advance and avoiding driving in central Santa Cruz during peak hours.
