The incident occurred this Saturday around 6:05 PM, when the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 112 received an alert about three people falling into the sea at the aforementioned coastal location. Citizen intervention was crucial before emergency services arrived: a local resident rescued the woman, while two men managed to get out of the water on their own.
Personnel from the Canary Emergency Medical Service (SUC) assessed those involved. The 21-year-old man, who showed symptoms of incomplete drowning with a moderate prognosis, was transported by ambulance to Hospiten Bellevue University Hospital. The 20-year-old woman sustained minor bruises and was treated and discharged at the scene.
The Local Police also participated in the security operation, securing the area and gathering relevant information. CECOES also activated the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) and Maritime Rescue due to the initial severity of the report.
