A man has been sentenced to two years in prison and a 100 euro fine in Tenerife for a public health offense, after being found in possession of marijuana, hashish, and MDMA, and identified selling narcotics.

The Provincial Court of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has issued a two-year prison sentence and a financial penalty for an individual who accepted charges for the possession and sale of illicit substances. The accused was found with four MDMA pills, 1.75 grams of hashish, and 0.73 grams of marijuana.
The identification of the defendant occurred on October 13, 2024, in the vicinity of the Las Verónicas Shopping Center, located in Arona. At that time, the man was conducting a transaction involving 0.73 grams of marijuana for 15 euros, as stated in the court ruling.
Despite the conviction, the accused's prison entry has been suspended for a period of three years, as he has no prior criminal record. This suspension is conditional on the individual not committing any further offenses during this period.
Initially, the Prosecutor's Office had requested a five-year prison sentence and a 300 euro fine. However, the request was reduced after the defendant admitted to the charges and it was confirmed that no cash was found on him at the time of his arrest.
