The Valle Colino Regional Shelter, located in La Laguna, has issued a priority alert to find a home for Negra, a 12-year-old dog who was abandoned and whose owner never responded to contact attempts.

Negra's story reflects the complex situations managed by the shelter. The dog was found on the street with her identification chip, but her owner never came to retrieve her, exhausting legal protocols and leaving Negra under the center's care with no details of her past life.

"She is wonderful, very trusting, affectionate, and loving. She is pure love and sweetness and the perfect companion for any family."

The center describes Negra as an animal with an exceptional, noble, and calm temperament, ideal for those seeking quiet companionship. Valle Colino officials emphasize that a shelter environment is not suitable for elderly animals, as noise, stress, and lack of a personalized routine severely affect senior dogs.

"Negra should be in a cozy bed, calm and feeling safe, not spending her days behind bars."

Negra is suitable for families with children and elderly people, gets along well with other dogs, and is delivered spayed, with an updated chip, and all vaccinations up to date. Those interested in adopting her can go directly to the shelter facilities at Calle Cartagena s/n, Finca España, in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, without needing an appointment. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Sundays and holidays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
