The Vallehermoso City Council has presented the official program for the San Juan 2026 Festivities, declared of regional tourist interest, scheduled from June 12 to 29 with a wide range of activities.

The celebrations, taking place at the Plaza de la Constitución, the Church of San Juan Bautista, and other emblematic locations, will blend tradition, gastronomy, music, sports, and educational initiatives to strengthen the local cultural identity and encourage community participation.
The festivities will kick off on June 12 with a tasting of Canarian wines organized by Campus La Gomera. The following day, June 13, the II Edition of Tagoror de Saberes will be held, featuring a photographic exhibition by Aday Niebla and the presentation of final degree and master's projects by students from the University of La Laguna.
In the subsequent days, educational workshops, orientation and environmental awareness activities, film screenings, talks, and family events such as the 'Planeta Komba' and 'Dinosaurios Show' will be offered. The Island Craftsmanship Fair, in collaboration with the La Gomera Island Council, will also be part of the program, alongside sports tournaments for futsal and dominoes.
The central religious and traditional events will take place on June 23 and 24, featuring the Eucharist presided over by parish priest D. Kevin Barroso, processions with chácara and drums, bonfire lighting, and pyrotechnic displays, recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. These events will include the participation of the Silbo Gomero Cultural Association and various local musical groups.
From June 26 to 28, the XXII Atlantic Sonoro Festival will present concerts, theatricalized routes, and workshops on silbo gomero, chácara, and drum, with performances by groups such as Amanecer de La Gomera and Grupo Tentación. The closing on June 29 will feature a procession and traditional dance.

"The San Juan Festivities are a moment of gathering for our entire community. Every activity, from educational workshops to concerts and processions, has been designed so that residents and visitors can enjoy the cultural and heritage richness of our municipality. We invite everyone to participate and experience these festivities with responsibility and enthusiasm."
