The airline Wizz Air has entered the domestic flight market between Spain and the Canary Islands, establishing a direct connection between Tenerife North airport and Santiago de Compostela.

This new route aims to expand travel options between the islands and the northwest of the peninsula. According to the company, flights will be operated using Airbus A320 family aircraft, known for their fuel efficiency.
The airline stated that this expansion is the result of collaboration with local authorities, aiming to promote balanced tourism growth on the island and improve connectivity for both residents and visitors.
Meanwhile, Tenerife South airport remains the company's main international hub in the region, where it maintains seven active routes connecting to four different countries.
