María Emilia Casas, honorary president of the Constitutional Court and State Counselor, and Fernando Vallespín, professor of Political Science and former president of the CIS, will headline the closing day of the conference titled 'The longest-lived Constitution in Spain's history: balance and perspectives'.
The event, aimed at reflecting on the Magna Carta and the challenges facing democracy, will take place at 7:00 PM. Admission is free until full capacity.
The conferences have addressed topics such as constitutional values, public ethics, the social and democratic state of law, parliamentary monarchy, the autonomous system, human dignity, and human rights. Current challenges like polarization and populism have also been analyzed, with the goal of debating formulas to improve democracy.
Casas will give a presentation on the social state, labor rights, militant democracy, and European construction. Vallespín, meanwhile, will analyze the contemporary political situation, polarization phenomena, and the rise of populism in Western democracies.
