The works visited include the reorganization of the Francisca de Gazmira Square area, a project funded through the FDCAN that seeks to create a multifunctional space and expand underground parking capacity. This intervention aims to improve accessibility and boost social and commercial activity in the town center.
On the other hand, the future Monterrey Hotel School is set to become a reference center for professional training in hospitality. The infrastructure, which restores a historic building from 1922, will feature 36 rooms, teaching spaces, and a renovated theater, integrating cultural memory with the island's economic diversification.
“"The Canary Islands needs projects that connect public investment with the daily lives of residents, and this work responds precisely to that objective."
The execution of these projects has required an investment of over seven million euros for the square, and a similar figure for the hotel school. Both actions are part of the recovery and territorial development strategy promoted by the regional executive in collaboration with the Cabildo of La Palma and the local council.
