Green Light for Construction of Senior Residential Center in El Paso

The Cabildo de La Palma and the El Paso City Council have formalized the start of construction for the future Senior Residential Center in the municipality, a project valued at 945,426.55 euros aimed at improving elderly care.

The signing of the replanning act marks the commencement of this project, which involves the collaboration of the Government of Canarias and is considered a fundamental milestone for the well-being of elderly people in El Paso. Funding comes from the NextGenerationEU funds of the European Union's Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, with an estimated execution period of approximately seven months.
The intervention includes the creation of new living spaces and common areas, designed under strict criteria of universal accessibility and energy efficiency. Additionally, outdoor areas will be improved, and spaces for medical and physiotherapy services will be optimized, thus ensuring an optimal working environment for the center's staff.

The president of the Cabildo, Sergio Rodríguez, emphasized the relevance of this work, highlighting that caring for people is a central pillar of his administration. His objective is to offer an effective and agile response to ensure the maximum well-being of the population.

For her part, the Social Action Councillor, Ángeles Fernández, noted that the project will generate twelve cohabitation units, seeking to create a home-like environment for residents. The mayor of El Paso, Eloy Martín, described the work as “fundamental” to respond to a historical demand and improve care for the elderly and dependent people in the municipality with facilities adapted to their needs.
