The spokesperson for Nueva Canarias, Juan Miguel Rodríguez, has denounced the "disastrous management" by the Tazacorte government team regarding water supply network reconstruction, which has resulted in a 200,000 euro expenditure on water tanks.

Rodríguez pointed out that the current situation, caused by the municipal government team (CC-PSOE-PP), is creating a "financial strain on the municipal treasury" and significant discontent among residents of Cabrejas Alto and El Corujo-Paradiso, who are still awaiting a definitive solution for their water supply.
The councilor recalled that, following the eruption of the Tajogaite volcano in December 2021, works to restore potable water supply in Tazacorte began just four months later. Although service was re-established in La Costa and Cabrejas Bajo, the areas of Cabrejas Alto and El Paradiso were excluded due to being in an "exclusion zone".
In May 2023, with the opening of the new La Costa road and municipal elections, a change in local government occurred. However, it wasn't until December 2024, more than a year and a half later, that an agreement was signed with the Insular Water Council for the recovery of the network in the Cabrejas sector, with a budget of 18,807 € and an execution period until July 30, 2025.

"Unfortunately, July arrives without the works being executed, and therefore, they have to return the subsidy to the Insular Water Council. But the most serious issue is not that they lost this aid from the Council, but that throughout all these years they have been transporting water to these areas in tanks at a cost to municipal coffers of about 200,000 euros."

Rodríguez criticized that by failing to execute a project costing around 20,000 euros, the tripartite government (CC-PSOE-PP) has spent approximately 200,000 euros on water transportation via tanks. This situation, according to the spokesperson, "demonstrates how this municipal government in Tazacorte squanders everyone's money," failing to find definitive solutions while boasting of management he deems deficient.
