The council emphasizes the relevance of the educational offerings from centers such as IES Eusebio Barreto Lorenzo and IES José María Pérez Pulido. This training covers areas like services, sports, personal care, and the digital sector, aiming to facilitate students' entry into the labor market with greater guarantees.
“"Training here means giving options to our people, retaining young population, and building a municipality, and an island, with more employment and greater capacity for growth."
Mayor Javier Llamas has stated that Los Llanos de Aridane's training proposal is crucial for a solid reconstruction. He also stressed that the municipality's strong commitment to training reinforces the need for an Integrated Vocational Training Center in the Aridane Valley. This momentum is boosted by the recent award, by the Canary Islands Government's Department of Education, of the project to update the CIFP Los Llanos, a step considered fundamental to consolidate and expand the existing educational offer.
For his part, the Councilor for Education, Eduardo Pérez, has emphasized the importance of making the training offer more accessible, including options such as evening shifts and blended learning, which allow people with other responsibilities to continue their studies. The reinforcement of support for students with specific needs through the incorporation of new 'aula enclave' classrooms has also been highlighted, thus promoting a more inclusive education.
IES Eusebio Barreto Lorenzo offers Baccalaureate in various modalities, including blended learning for adults. In Vocational Training, it has basic level cycles in Computer Science and Communications and Domestic Activities and Building Cleaning, as well as Adapted Basic Vocational Training in Commerce and Marketing. It also teaches the intermediate level cycle in Care for Dependent Persons, and sports training such as Sports Technician in Football and Lifesaving and Rescue, in addition to the higher level degree in Social Integration.
IES José María Pérez Pulido, for its part, offers a wide and diverse range of studies, from ESO and Baccalaureate to an extensive network of Vocational Training. In Basic Vocational Training, it includes specialties such as Forestry Exploitation and Hairdressing and Aesthetics. At the intermediate level, it covers areas such as Administrative Management and Microcomputer Systems and Networks. At the higher level, it includes courses such as Sports Teaching and Animation, Administration and Finance, and Web Application Development, as well as specialization courses in cybersecurity and maintenance of hybrid and electric vehicles.
The City Council values the coordination with the management of both institutes, a joint effort that allows adjusting the educational offer to the reality of the municipality and improving the response to citizens. The registration period for these training courses is currently open.
