The Candelaria Town Hall hosted the reception for the promoters of the Amaro Pargo House Recovery Initiative. Mayor Mari Brito and the Councilor for Institutional Relations, Francisco Pinto, met with Ángel Antonio Adán Peñalosa and Beatriz García Puerta, who are working on the dissemination and enhancement of three Sites of Cultural Interest (BIC) in Machado, El Rosario.
The cultural assets in question are the Amaro Pargo House, the Hermitage of Our Lady of the Rosary and San Amaro, and the Camino Viejo de Candelaria, the latter considered a historic pilgrimage route to the Villa Mariana.
During the meeting, Adán and García presented the 360º Virtual Tour of the three BIC. This resource was created with the collaboration of José Luis Saorín from the University of La Laguna (ULL) and will soon be updated with 3D modeling developed by Borja Borges. They also displayed two scale models of the Amaro Pargo House: one 3D printed by the ULL and another hyperrealistic model crafted by José Doña and finished by Florencio Pérez. Additionally, they showcased a bust of the corsair, also 3D printed by the ULL and finished by Florencio Pérez.
The Mayor and the councilor expressed their interest in the initiative's work and the Town Hall's willingness to collaborate in promoting the project and the three BIC, highlighting the shared link through the Camino Viejo.
At the end of the meeting, the initiative's representatives presented Mari Brito with a pack for the 360º Virtual Tour of the three BIC of Machado, accessible via a QR code.
