Los Lomos Trail Crowns Habibi, Pueyo, Ghazi, and Ormaetxea in Barranco Hondo

The town of Barranco Hondo, in Candelaria, hosted the Los Lomos Trail race on Saturday, October 3rd, a mountain running event that included the L Route (23K) and the S Route (13K), as well as a children's race.

The sporting event featured the L Route – 23K, offering 1,485 meters of positive elevation gain and qualifying for the UTMB Index, and the S Route – 13K, with 1,022 meters of positive elevation gain. The Drexmin Los Lomitos Kids completed the offerings, dedicated to the youngest participants.
Candelaria's mayor, Mari Brito, congratulated the organizers, volunteers, and families on the event's success, stating it was "much more than a race: it was sport, it was family, and it was town." Brito highlighted the children's race as "the best way to instill values like effort and camaraderie in the youngest," and reaffirmed the municipal support for the event.
In the men's L Route – 23K, Arezki Habibi Núñez (Bikila Canarias) took victory with a time of 02:13:50, followed by Jorge Hernández González (Canary Runner) and Adrián Dorta Bethencourt (La Pizarra de Adrián). The women's category was won by Marta Pueyo Yeguas (CD Correayo) at 02:46:20, with Silvia Pérez Delgado and Paula González Concepción taking second and third place.
The S Route – 13K saw the men's victory go to Ossama Ghazi (Independent) in 01:26:35, with Mario Martín Almeida and Alejandro Sosa Correa completing the podium. In the women's race, Ane Ormaetxea won with 01:53:13, followed by María José García Pérez and Davinia Herrera Pérez.
The Councilor for Sports, Manuel González, emphasized the "sporting level of an event that is already a benchmark in Tenerife's trail running calendar" and thanked the organizing team and volunteers. He also highlighted the significant participation of local residents in the race.
Councilors Francisco Pinto and Reinaldo Triviño were present at the trophy ceremony.
