Candelaria Town Hall Recognizes Successes of the Ballester Cycling Club

The mayor and the sports councilor welcomed young cyclists for their outstanding results in regional and national championships.

The mayor of Candelaria, Mari Brito, and the sports councilor, Manuel González, received representatives of the Ballester Cycling Club at the Town Hall yesterday to honor their sporting achievements this season.

The council recognized the outstanding results achieved by several of its young athletes. Among those honored was Daniel Serpa, in the children's category, who secured 3rd place in the Canary Islands road championship and has been called up for the 2026 Spanish school championships. Elías Chacón, also in the children's category, was recognized for his call-up to the same national event.
In the female children's category, Sara González stood out, becoming the 2026 Canary Islands road champion and being called up for the 2026 Spanish school championships. Additionally, Mar Álvarez was recognized as the 2026 Canary Islands MTB champion and called up for the 2026 Spanish school MTB championships.
The club's representation was completed by Alexander Medina, in the Benjamin category, who was the runner-up in the Canary Islands school MTB championship. During the meeting, the authorities discussed the season with the club's representatives and congratulated both the athletes for their achievements and the club for managing its cycling school.
