The Fiestas del Socorro in Güímar will feature a special public transport operation organized by Titsa for September 7th and 8th. The company plans to offer a total of 20,000 additional seats to facilitate access to the celebrations, which coincide with the Bajada and Subida de la Virgen, events of great historical, cultural, and religious significance in Tenerife.
The reinforcement aims to meet the high demand from travelers, making public transport a key alternative for reaching, enjoying the festival, and returning more comfortably, thus avoiding problems associated with private vehicle use such as traffic jams and parking.
Special line 530 will be the main focus, connecting the Güímar Station with El Socorro. On September 7th, it will operate from 04:15 to 21:00 hours, offering service from the early morning. On the 8th, the schedule will be from 08:00 to 21:00 hours, aiming to absorb the movement of people between the town of Güímar and El Socorro.
Additionally, line 120, which connects the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Interchange with various towns up to Güímar Station, will be reinforced. On September 7th, its services between Puertito and Güímar will be extended from 04:30 to 09:00 hours, reaching Calle Rigoberto Díaz Melero. On both days, line 120 will pass through El Socorro in both directions, facilitating access to the celebration area for those traveling from Santa Cruz, Candelaria, or Las Caletillas.
Last year, Titsa transported nearly 15,000 passengers during these two days, with 4,595 users on special line 530 and 10,270 on line 120. These figures highlight the importance of this year's operation.
The plan also includes reinforcements for line 033 on September 7th, with early departures from Fasnia, El Escobonal, and El Tablado towards Güímar. Line 121 will maintain its usual schedules.
A special stop will be set up in El Socorro for lines 530 and 120, while stop 8094 El Socorro will be out of service. Users are advised to check the specific changes to stops and routes.
Several lines, including 032 and 035, will modify their routes on September 7th due to traffic closures on Avenida Obispo Pérez Cáceres and other diversions. Titsa recommends consulting updated information before traveling.
