The Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received the accident alert at approximately 9:56 PM. Eyewitnesses reported that a car veered off the road for reasons still under investigation, falling down an embankment.
An emergency operation was immediately activated, involving the Tenerife Fire Consortium, the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC), and the Local Police. Firefighters secured the damaged vehicle and assisted in extracting the occupants, while Candelaria Local Police officers managed traffic and prepared the official report to clarify the circumstances of the road departure.
SUC medical personnel attended to the two women at the scene, who presented with various traumas and contusions. After being stabilized, both were transported by basic life support ambulances to the reference hospital in the capital of Tenerife.
Despite the dramatic nature of the accident, the initial assessment indicated moderate injuries, barring any subsequent complications. The swift and coordinated response of the emergency teams in Tenerife was crucial in ensuring immediate assistance in an area with complex topography.
