House fire in Puerto de la Cruz: 63-year-old woman taken to hospital with moderate burns

A 63-year-old woman has been transferred to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands after suffering moderate burns in a fire that broke out in a home in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife.

The fire originated in a dwelling located on Carretera general a Las Arenas, in the municipality of Puerto de la Cruz. The Emergency and Safety Coordination Center (CECOES) 1 1 2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received the alert at 09:00 hours.
Firefighters from the Tenerife Consortium managed to extinguish the flames and ventilate the affected property. Subsequently, personnel from the Canary Emergency Medical Service (SUC) assessed and assisted the sole occupant, a 63-year-old woman.
The woman presented moderate burns at the initial stage of assistance. She was transported by a SUC basic life support ambulance to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands for specialized medical care.
Officers from the National Police and Local Police were dispatched to the scene to secure the incident area and initiate the necessary proceedings to clarify the causes of the event.
