Los Realejos is celebrating the 9th edition of the Gran Fiesta de Vinos de Tenerife at El Socorro Beach this Saturday, September 12th, an event that will bring together 79 wine references from 25 wineries and gastronomic offerings from 8 restaurants.

El Socorro Beach will be the venue this Saturday, September 12th, for the 9th Gran Fiesta de Vinos de Tenerife (GFVT’26), a benchmark event in the wine promotion of the Canary Islands. The celebration, running from 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM, will feature 79 wine references from 25 wineries in Tenerife (DO Valle de La Orotava, DO Islas Canarias, DO Abona, and DO Tacoronte-Acentejo) and from Gran Canaria, the guest island for this edition through its DOP Gran Canaria.
Eight catering establishments will offer a total of 37 different gastronomic proposals, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Purchases will be made directly at the participants' stalls.
The event, supported institutionally by the Cabildo de Tenerife and the Government of the Canary Islands through Gesprotur, focuses on sustainability. Reusable Tritan wine glasses will be used, glass will be prohibited, and individual waste bags will be provided, which can be exchanged for a gift upon return. Furthermore, public transport via free round-trip buses will be promoted to minimize the carbon footprint.
The mayor of Los Realejos, Adolfo González, highlighted that El Socorro Beach will become the "largest open-air wine cellar in the Canary Islands," promoting the area's gastronomy, nature, and cultural production.
The musical lineup will feature 'Vamos y la liamos' (6:00 PM and 12:00 AM), 'Sin cobertura' (8:00 PM), and 'Stereogroove' (10:00 PM).
The free bus service will depart every 30 minutes from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM from two points in the municipality: the Municipal Swimming Pool in Realejo Alto and the entrance to San Agustín Park in El Puente. Return trips from the beach will run from 7:00 PM to 2:30 AM.
Taxis are also available, and up to four large parking areas are provided: the esplanade of the Municipal Market, the free parking next to the Los Realejos Town Hall on Calle Taoro, the San Agustín sports center, and the upper esplanade of the access road to El Socorro Beach.
Valentín González, insular councilor for Primary Sector of the Tenerife Island Council, noted the participation of 16 Tenerife wineries with 64 wine references and 9 Gran Canaria wineries with 15 wines, fostering synergies between producers from both islands.
Ignacio Solana, CEO of Gesprotur, emphasized the importance of collaboration for events like this, which highlight the primary sector and local products in a unique setting like El Socorro Beach.
The festival, declared a Local Tourist Interest Festival of Los Realejos in 2019, is recognized for its sustainability, natural environment, gastronomy, wine richness, and complementary cultural activities.
