The municipal government clarified that although a discordant result was recorded on June 22 at sampling point PM5, subsequent analyses have been fully favorable. According to the council, these data rule out any generalized or continuous contamination in the bathing area.
The local administration emphasized that it did not receive any official communication from the General Directorate of Public Health recommending the closure of the beach. Instead, the council itself forwarded the results of independent analyses commissioned to preventively verify the state of the coastline to health authorities.
Since June 17, 2025, the beach has remained open following a recovery process that includes ongoing work on the sanitation network. The local government noted that over a hundred interventions have been carried out on collectors, manholes, and relief points to minimize risks.
The municipal executive called for caution, urging that the technical discrepancy be analyzed by competent bodies without causing unnecessary alarm among the public. It also reaffirmed its commitment to continue collaborating with the Cabildo de Tenerife and the Island Water Council to promote pending improvements to the submarine outfall.
