Following the proclamation of Marc Paré and Sarah-Quita Offringa in the Open category, the final day of the Wind&Waves Festival decided the titles in the Master, Grand Master, Pro Junior Girls (U-21), and Junior Girls (U-18) categories at El Cabezo Beach.
Belgian rider Sol Degrieck dominated the Pro Junior Girls category from start to finish, winning all three finals and surpassing Turkey's Helena Derya Lale.
In the Junior Girls category, Japan's Natsuki Wakasa initially led, but Germany's Trine Gobisch mounted a comeback with two second places and a victory in the final heat to claim the championship. Bobbi-Lynn De Jong from the Netherlands secured third place.
British rider Ben Proffitt repeated his victory in the Master category, decisively winning the final heat. Jochen Solz finished second, followed by Guillermo Barreiro and Sandro Dálessio.
In the Grand Master category, Michael Friedl defeated Sandro Dálessio, who came in second. Alessandro Mazzetti completed the podium.
The festival will continue with Foil, featuring public demonstrations and a non-official competition, highlighting the growth of this discipline within wind sports.
The Médano Wind&Waves Festival is supported by the Government of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo of Tenerife, and the Granadilla de Abona City Council, with sponsorship from brands such as Playa Surf CBbC Hotel, Balearia, Veinte 04, Future Fly Boards, and Foil Drive.
