Success at El Médano's III Inclusive Popular Race

El Médano successfully celebrated its III Inclusive Popular Race last Saturday, September 5th, bringing together nearly 400 participants for a day of sports, integration, and community.

The town of El Médano experienced an afternoon of sports and inclusion with the III Inclusive Popular Race. The event, organized by the Guaimán Athletics Club in collaboration with the Sports Department of the Granadilla de Abona City Council, has established itself as a prominent fixture in the municipal sports calendar.
The five-kilometer route, starting and finishing at the central square, included a section towards the El Cabezo area. The race featured various categories, from under-20s to veterans and masters, as well as a children's race for those aged 3 to 15 with adapted distances.

In the overall women's category, Adaya Martín Torres (Tenerife Cajacanarias) took first place, followed by Ana Boullón Sabín (CD Vallivana) and Vanesa Hernández Vera (800 Runners). In the men's category, Jairo Paule Martín (CD Correayo Spar Tenerife) was the winner, with Alejandro Gómez Cabrera (Guaimán) and Juan Manuel Pérez Tejera (CD Correayo Spar Tenerife) completing the podium.
Sports Councilor Fredi Oramas highlighted the event's great reception and thanked the participants, volunteers, and the Guaimán Club for their involvement, emphasizing Granadilla's role as a benchmark for equality, diversity, and community.
The Guaimán Athletics Club, the event organizer, expressed gratitude to the council, the citizens for filling all available spots, and the runners, families, and participating entities, who contributed to the success of this third edition.
