San Miguel de Abona inicia el diagnóstico de infancia y adolescencia

Ayuntamiento de San Miguel de Abona · 2026-11-05

The San Miguel de Abona City Council has begun the development of the Municipal Diagnosis of Childhood and Adolescence, a participatory process aimed at understanding the reality of minors in the municipality and identifying their needs to guide future actions.

This process, driven by the Childhood and Family Area of the Social Services department, is a key step towards obtaining the Child Friendly City recognition awarded by Unicef Spain.
The project will include participation sessions in the municipality's educational centers, adapted to different age groups. Through these dynamics, children and adolescents will be able to express their perception of San Miguel de Abona, value aspects of their environment, and propose necessary changes.
The diagnosis will also gather information from the City Council's political-technical staff to understand the municipal resources and services aimed at children and adolescents.
Furthermore, contributions will be sought from professionals and third-sector entities working with minors, which will allow for the incorporation of different perspectives and the identification of existing needs and resources.
The company Oxia, specializing in childhood and adolescence diagnoses and plans, will provide technical assistance and coordinate the development of the work.
The conclusions of the diagnosis will serve to provide an updated vision of the situation of childhood and adolescence in the municipality, identify priorities, and guide future municipal measures from a rights and participation approach, integrating the needs and proposals of minors into municipal planning.
