Blood donation campaign in Tacoronte until Friday

The General Directorate of Blood and Hemotherapy Donation of the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS) has launched a blood donation campaign in Tacoronte, which will run until next Friday.

The mobile unit is located at Carretera General del Norte, 57, in front of the Correos post office, and will be operational in morning and afternoon shifts. Specifically, the hours are from 09:15 to 13:45 and from 16:00 to 20:45, with the last day, October 9, concluding at 20:15.
The General Directorate of Blood and Hemotherapy Donation emphasizes the importance of donating blood regularly, at least twice a year, to maintain adequate reserves and ensure blood availability for hospitals and patients.
In addition to the mobile unit, there are fixed donation points in Tenerife. In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the fixed point at Méndez Núñez operates from Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM to 8:15 PM (except holidays). At the San Isidro Health Center in Granadilla de Abona, donations can be made Monday to Friday from 8:15 AM to 7:30 PM (except holidays), with a reserved parking space for donors.
Within the hospital network, the University Hospital of the Canary Islands allows donations without an appointment from Sunday to Friday and on holidays from 8:30 AM to 9:30 PM, and on Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM and from 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM. The University Hospital Nuestra Señora de Candelaria offers donations without an appointment from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, except holidays.
Other donation points include Hospiten Bellevue in Puerto de la Cruz, by appointment at 922 385 235 (option 1), Monday to Friday from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM (except holidays). Lastly, the San Juan de Dios Hospital, on the Carretera de Santa Cruz La Laguna, accepts donations Monday to Friday from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, except holidays.
Basic requirements for blood donation include being between eighteen and 65 years old (up to sixty for a first donation), weighing over fifty kilograms, being in good general health, and not being pregnant.
