The distinction recognizes the trajectory of outstanding figures in the audiovisual panorama and their connection with Canarian culture. The gala, hosted by San Juan herself alongside actor Adolfo Rodríguez, featured a video screening reviewing the artist's extensive career as an actress, director, screenwriter, and producer.
The mayor of Telde, Juan Antonio Peña, highlighted San Juan's figure as a representative of talent, perseverance, creativity, and commitment to culture, as well as an ambassador for the Canary Islands. He emphasized the actress's close relationship with the municipality and the theater, a venue for numerous performances.

Visibly moved, San Juan confessed that Telde holds a special place in her life and recalled her mother's presence at the Juan Ramón Jiménez Theater. She expressed gratitude for the affection received on all the islands but emphasized the special bond with Telde due to the audience's warmth and the many occasions to present her work.
The Councilor for Culture, Juan Martel, stated that the creation of the award aims to inspire new generations and that San Juan is the ideal person due to her artistic career and commitment. He added that the municipality owes a debt of gratitude to those who promote the name of the Canary Islands worldwide.
