The fourth edition of Burger Fest Canarias Las Palmas 2026 has kicked off at Parque Santa Catalina, specifically at the Plaza de Canarias. Up to 25 restaurants from the islands are expected to participate in this event, which has established itself as a significant summer gathering in the capital of Gran Canaria.
The 24 participating burgers are distinguished by their meticulous execution and originality, featuring proposals that aim to surprise with their ingredients and presentation. The jury evaluated criteria such as flavor, juiciness, structure, cooking, bun, ingredient balance, and originality.
On the first day, a jury divided into two groups tasted the 24 burgers. From these, six were selected as finalists and will compete tomorrow in the grand finale for the title of best burger of the festival.
This year's jury comprised professionals from the gastronomic sector, including chefs, consultants, tasters, and influencers. The tasting was conducted blindly, with burgers identified only by a number to ensure impartiality.
The entries come from various islands such as Tenerife and Lanzarote, and even from mainland Spain like Galicia. Among the participating food trucks are well-known names from previous editions, including La Quícara, Cheddar. School Burger, Mamut Burger, Costumbres Argentinas, Madre Mía! Burgers, All or nothing, Buen Rollito, La Jefa, and El Samán, all returning with renewed recipes.
Beyond the competition, Burger Fest Canarias offers a family gastronomic and leisure experience with over thirty food trucks and dining stalls. There are gluten-free options, vegan choices, a dessert zone, and bars, in addition to free musical programming throughout the weekend.
Friday's schedule included musical performances, and Saturday will feature more artists and the highly anticipated performance by La Tribu Pop. Sunday will conclude with sets by various DJs.
The competition will culminate on Saturday with the final round of tastings, where the authors will explain their culinary creations. The winning establishment will receive a prize of 500 euros, while the second and third prizes will be awarded 300 and 150 euros, respectively.
Attendees also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite proposal for the Audience Award, which comes with 150 euros. The results will be announced live on Sunday, concluding a weekend that once again makes the capital of Gran Canaria the epicenter of the best burgers in the archipelago.
