The Arucas City Council has launched the tender for concrete paving works in the Bañaderos ravine, covering an extension of 264.5 meters and with an investment exceeding 810,000 euros.

The project involves paving the channel from the IES Bañaderos to the wastewater treatment plant in the same locality. An estimated execution period of six months is anticipated to complete this infrastructure.
This initiative follows previous work carried out by the council between 2013 and 2014, when 145 meters of the ravine leading to the coast, specifically in the El Puertillo area, were paved. The main objective is to improve accessibility conditions in this area of the municipality of Arucas.
The contract focuses on paving a surface of 264.5 meters, a section where a considerable number of adjacent homes are located. Therefore, both pedestrian and vehicular accesses will be enabled through the channel, which will be delimited by a prefabricated concrete curb.
The central section of the ravine will have a width of 6.50 meters, and all pavement, both in the pedestrian area and in the channel, will be made of concrete. To control vehicle speed in the roadway area, approximately 3-centimeter curbs will be installed.
The plan also includes the removal of existing garden areas in the ravine, which will involve felling trees and shrubs, with the exception of palm trees. It is important to note that this project will not alter the functionality of the ravine; on the contrary, it will optimize the flow of runoff and improve environmental connectivity for transit.
