The work, arriving on Friday, September 25th, at 8:00 PM, at the Santa Brígida Cultural Center, has been recognized with the Réplica Award 2025 for Best Dance Performance and Best Sound Design, the latter created by Miguel Marín. It is also part of the national Danza Escena 2026 Catalogue.
With the subtitle 'Hurgarse en la identidad – Flamenco bastardo – Latino impuro' (Delving into Identity – Bastard Flamenco – Impure Latino), this 55-minute piece intertwines dance, live singing, and sound design to create a scenic language that is both physical and personal. Choreographer Paula Quintana shares the stage with the vocal ensemble Proyecto eLe, whose voices become a collective body and a witness within the choreography.
In 'Atlas of Anatomy', the female and island body is explored as a territory crossed by Andalusian heritage, Afro-Latin influences, and the European present, reflecting identity, miscegenation, and the desire for freedom.
The production is supported by the MARES program of the Canarian Institute for Cultural Development of the Government of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo of Tenerife, the INAEM, and Auditorio de Tenerife.
Paula Quintana, trained in theater, classical, contemporary, and flamenco dance, has an extensive national and international career. She has worked in film and performing arts, serving as a resident artist at prestigious venues such as the Teatros del Canal and the Teatro de la Abadía. Her work has been presented in theaters, festivals, and international circuits across Europe, Asia, and America.
With over a decade of experience and ten original creations, her work has received numerous awards, including the Réplica Award for Best Performance for 'Las Alegrías' and the Umore Azoka Award for Best Emerging Artist/Creator for 'Latente', as well as nominations for the Max Awards.
