Babel is presented as a large-scale multidisciplinary performance offering a poetic, visual, and spiritual perspective on the origin and evolution of humanity. The work narrates the conception of five characters by the goddess Tea, who create a community based on respect and balance, accompanied by Cronos, the god of time. However, passions, power, and selfishness threaten this harmony.
The piece is a tribute to sustainability and coexistence in balance with our habitat, reminding us that only by caring for our environment can we care for ourselves.
The chosen venue is Parque Santa Catalina, a key location in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, especially for travelers arriving by sea at the Puerto de La Luz. Its privileged location, between the port and Las Canteras beach, makes it a welcoming postcard for cruise passengers.
The park, with its children's area, kiosks, and terraces, houses two emblematic buildings of English port architecture: the Elder Building, now the Science Museum, and the Miller Building, a multifunctional space for culture and a logistical center during carnival festivities.
Also noteworthy is the Casa del Turismo, a landmark of the city's heritage, designed by artist Néstor Martín-Fernández de la Torre and his brother Miguel Martín Fernández de la Torre.
