This final phase completes the processing of the 10,445 applications submitted, allowing the inclusion of new beneficiaries by reducing academic requirements and expanding income thresholds. It also addresses pending review cases.
Among the grants awarded in this last phase are 723 academic excellence scholarships, a modality introduced for the first time to recognize the effort and performance of university students. Of these, 400 are for students from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 239 from the University of La Laguna, and 84 from other centers.
The Minister of Universities, Science, Innovation and Culture, Migdalia Machín, highlighted that "a grant policy only fulfills its purpose when it removes barriers and expands opportunities. That has been the criterion guiding all decisions made in this call."
Throughout the course, the Department has resolved the call in different phases to expedite management and payment of aid. The first definitive resolution addressed 3,800 applications, the second incorporated 1,348, and the third resolved 5,301 cases. With this extraordinary resolution, the procedure for the 2025/2026 academic year is concluded.
