This Wednesday, the three candidates vying for the presidency of the High Court of Justice of Canarias (TSJ) appeared in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to detail their action plans and vision for justice in the archipelago.

During their interventions, one of the aspirants highlighted the high level of litigation in Canarias, noting that the resolution rate, although above average, negatively impacts citizens' rights and the perception of the judicial system.

"We work for and for the people, and I propose organizing a system of care for victims, for healthcare workers assaulted in the autonomous community."

Among the proposed measures were the unification of criteria, the development of regulations through training courses, and the harmonization of distribution rules. Initiatives to raise awareness among legal operators were also suggested, such as creating protocols with bar associations to avoid trial suspensions and developing a guide to good practices.
The candidate emphasized the importance of bi-weekly meetings with the deans of the capital islands to foster an institutional environment of respect and the pursuit of excellence. Furthermore, they advocated for the improvement of the Atlante Web system and proposed designating Canarias as a pilot territory for the implementation of artificial intelligence in the judicial sphere. Regarding training, they suggested leveraging programs like Educate in Justice to promote equality and creating a specific tourism law course for Canarias. Finally, concerning the Efficiency Law, they proposed reaching a justice pact in the archipelago.
