The deputy for Coalición Canaria in Congress, Cristina Valido, has presented a non-legislative proposal (PNL) urging the government to amend the Framework Statute for statutory personnel in health services.

The parliamentary initiative seeks to update the professional classification of vocational training healthcare personnel and management and services staff, adapting it to current training and national and European frameworks. The goal is to better align administrative and care functions.
The proposal specifically focuses on four groups: Technical Auxiliary Nursing Care staff (TCAE), specialized technical staff, administrative assistants, and orderlies. It is argued that the current classification of TCAE in sub-group C2 does not reflect their qualifications or the evolution of their care duties.

"The initiative requests their reclassification into sub-group C1, considering that their current placement in C2 neither reflects their qualifications nor the evolution of their care functions."

During the registration of the initiative in the Lower House, Valido was accompanied by representatives from the TCAE Canarias platform and Asamblea7Islas. The text also proposes a reform of the professional career system and the full recognition of staff seniority.
