The actions of the Central Government in the health crisis caused by a hantavirus outbreak on a cruise ship have been questioned. The vessel is scheduled to anchor this weekend in the waters of Granadilla, in southern Tenerife, raising concerns in the archipelago.
A Canarian media director has analyzed the role of the head of Health, pointing to a perceived lack of transparency. According to his analysis, the intervention of other Central Government members was necessary to mend relations with the President of the Canary Islands, who encountered an inflexible stance and a lack of scientific data to support the unilaterally made decisions.
“"There has been no transparency."
The situation has highlighted tensions between administrations, with the Government of the Canary Islands demanding greater clarity and scientific justification for the measures adopted by the Ministry of Health in response to this health emergency.
