The handball team Rocasa Gran Canaria was honored this Tuesday by the Telde City Council and the Canary Islands Government after being crowned champions of the Liga Guerreras Iberdrola.

The players, coaching staff, and board of directors of the Telde-based team received warm institutional recognition following their recent league conquest, which marked their second league title and ended the decade-long dominance of Súper Amara Bera Bera.
The events began at the Telde City Hall, where they were welcomed by the mayor, Juan Antonio Peña, and the Councilor for Sports, Christian Santana. Both congratulated the club on an extraordinary season, highlighting the pride it brings to the city to carry its name throughout Spain and its role as an example of effort and values for new generations.
Subsequently, the delegation moved to the headquarters of the Government of the Canary Islands, where they were received by the regional president, Fernando Clavijo; the Minister of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports, Poli Suárez; and the Vice Minister of Physical Activity and Sports, Ángel Sabroso. The regional executive representatives praised the club's success, which projects an image of excellence for the Canary Islands nationally, and thanked them for their work in promoting women's sports and youth development.

"It's a dream come true to win the title that was missing for me with Rocasa. I'm incredibly excited, and all that's left is to enjoy it and fight next season to keep reaching and winning finals. There were difficult personal moments when I almost quit, but I fought hard to be here, and I dedicate this great victory to that inner child who never stopped fighting to be where she is."
