The International Sea Fair (Fimar) celebrates its fifteenth edition at the Port of Las Palmas from May 22 to 24, under the theme 'Outermost Regions and the Sea' and with Martinique as the guest territory.
This event, which has established itself as a benchmark in the nautical and maritime sector, aims to foster knowledge, generate opportunities, and strengthen activities linked to the blue economy, a sector of growing importance in the Canary Islands.
The fair, promoted by the Las Palmas City Council, the Cabildo de Gran Canaria through Infecar, and the Port Authority, will offer a wide range of activities for all audiences. These include 10 'guiribarco' trips to explore the Port and the city from the sea, nautical exhibitions, maritime leisure, water sports, talks, conferences, and presentations.
Additionally, there will be children's and family activities, a gastronomic area, live music, visits to a Navy vessel, and fashion shows. Professors and young researchers from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) will deliver 26 talks, and Gran Canaria will be promoted as a Starlight destination through the Twin by Stars project, focused on astrotourism and sustainability.
A preliminary session will be held on May 21 at the High Technology Marine-Maritime Incubator, located in the Port Foundation Building, featuring scientific dissemination talks and activities. From May 22 to 24, visitors can explore 90 stands with fifty exhibitors at Muelle Sanapú, next to the Poema del Mar Aquarium.

"That is the promotion that interests us, something that expresses our relationship with the sea, especially in a context where the relationship with the Port Authority is fundamental for our urban development."
“
"The port institution will focus its participation on explaining to young people the opportunities that exist to work in the Port so that the qualified personnel we need come from here, from our people."
