The 'Goals for Hope' exhibition has opened in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, using football and photography to showcase the experiences of young migrants and refugees.

The participatory exhibition 'Goals for Hope', which merges football, photography, and social transformation, has opened its doors in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The exhibition aims to highlight the stories of young migrants, refugees, and vulnerable groups, employing sports and art as tools for integration.
Located at the Centro Cultural Pepe Dámaso in the La Isleta neighborhood, the exhibition is part of the parallel activities organized for the Queen's Cup football final held in Gran Canaria. The inauguration was attended by local and federation authorities.
The project centers on participatory photography and sports as educational tools. The exhibited images are created by the participants themselves, who, after receiving training, have been able to capture their experiences of welcome, coexistence, overcoming challenges, and displacement from their own perspectives.

"This exhibition reflects the enormous power of sport to generate community, break down prejudices, and build spaces for coexistence based on respect and diversity."

Carolina Darias · Mayor of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
Participating groups include initiatives from Seville, Madrid, Barcelona, and the 'Refugiados CEAR' team in Canarias. Members of the latter guided parts of the inaugural tour, sharing the meaning behind the images and promoting empathy, respect, and social inclusion.
The exhibition, which features educational materials for schoolchildren and sports clubs, is supported by the Ministry of Culture and has received international recognition. After its run in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 'Goals for Hope' will continue its tour to cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Bilbao, and Alicante. The exhibition can be visited at the Centro Cultural Pepe Dámaso until June 19.
