The resignation of the head of the Local Police of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria was announced this Monday. This decision comes days after the filing of an administrative appeal against the force's working hour instructions became known.
These working hour instructions were an agreement reached between the Security and Human Resources departments of the City Council and the workers' representatives.
At the time, the City Council declined to comment on the action taken by the head of the Local Police, merely stating that issues related to working hours would be addressed in the relevant monitoring committee.
“"Her dedication, professionalism, and commitment to citizen security and mobility have significantly contributed to strengthening the Local Police and improving coexistence in the municipality."
In a statement also issued this Monday, the City Council expressed its gratitude for the services rendered by the head of the force since 2019, highlighting her work in municipal security.
