Hiker rescued after fall in Los Cernícalos ravine

A 74-year-old man was airlifted to hospital after falling ten meters in Telde, Gran Canaria.

A 74-year-old man was rescued this Wednesday in the Los Cernícalos ravine, in Telde, after falling ten meters while hiking in the area.

The incident occurred in the afternoon, with emergency services receiving the alert at 14:49. According to the Emergency and Security Coordination Center, the victim suffered a head injury following the fall.
The rescue operation involved the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES), which deployed a helicopter to airlift the injured man. The Gran Canaria Fire Consortium and the Telde Local Police also provided support during the intervention.
After being stabilized at the scene, the man was transported to the Doctor Negrín University Hospital of Gran Canaria, where he is currently receiving medical care.
