A robbery at a jewelry store in the Cita shopping center, Playa del Inglés, has triggered a large police operation and a chase that extended to Telde, with several arrests made.

The incident occurred this Saturday when several individuals allegedly robbed a jewelry store in the CC Cita shopping center, located in Playa del Inglés. After the theft, the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, prompting a swift response from officers of the National Police, Local Police, and the Civil Guard.
The initial alert came from an off-duty police officer from the Basque Country's Regional Police. He observed four hooded individuals switching vehicles on Avenida de Gran Canaria, heading towards Dinamarca street. During the vehicle change, several jewels reportedly fell to the ground from one of the alleged participants. The suspects then entered a second car where a fifth person, also hooded, was waiting.
The police investigation is now focused on determining if this incident is related to subsequent arrests made in the Las Huesas area of Telde. There, a vehicle carrying several suspects crashed into a house under construction on the road connecting this area with El Caracol.
Following the crash, officers managed to apprehend two of the four occupants of the car. The other two attempted to flee on foot, leading to an additional police deployment in the area. During the chase, one of the fugitives reportedly tried to access the vicinity of a school to evade officers before ultimately being detained.
Currently, three individuals have been arrested, and a fourth is believed to have escaped. The investigation remains open to clarify all details of the robbery, the escape route, and the potential connection between the vehicle change observed in San Bartolomé de Tirajana and the subsequent arrests in Telde.
