The ruling, issued by the Contentious-Administrative Section of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Court of Instance, has become final as no appeal was filed within the legally established period. The decision fully supports the management carried out by the local council.
The origin of the proceedings lay in a complaint regarding alleged administrative inactivity concerning the political situation and the dedication regime of a council member of the local government. However, the judicial body determined that no such inactivity existed and that the procedural path used by the appellant was not appropriate.
Furthermore, the court noted that the questioned municipal agreements were already final, as they had not been challenged at the time. As a result of the dismissal, the sentence imposes the costs of the proceedings on the appellant, estimated at approximately 2,000 euros.
“"The finality of this sentence confirms that the City Council acted at all times with responsibility, transparency, and absolute respect for the law."
