The neighborhood of La Atalaya is preparing to honor the Santo Cristo Milagroso with its patron saint festivities in 2026. The Caitasa Neighborhood Association has detailed a schedule of events that will run from September 11th to 14th.

The celebrations will begin on Friday, September 11th, with a Mass at 8:00 PM, followed by the Procession of the Torches. This traditional route, which visits the altars, is a reflection of the neighborhood's ancestral faith towards its Santo Cristo Milagroso. The highlight of the procession will be the sung encounter between the Christ and the Virgen de los Dolores.
On Saturday, September 12th, the day will start at 7:00 PM with the Pilgrimage-Offering to the Santo Cristo de La Atalaya, presented by Mª Pino Rodríguez Socorro and Francisco Santana Santana. The pilgrimage will feature carts from collectives and neighbors, accompanied by traditional music groups (parrandas) and folklore ensembles, traveling from Plaza Mariquita Benítez to the Plaza de la Iglesia. The night will continue with the Grand Verbena (street party) in Plaza Mariquita Benítez, from 10:30 PM to 2:00 AM, enlivened by the group Luz de Luna.
On Sunday, September 13th, the 12:30 PM Mass will be harmonized by the folklore group La Zarzalera. Afterwards, at 1:15 PM, a Procession accompanied by the Banda Isleña will take place. The afternoon will be marked by a popular Canarian lunch in Plaza Mariquita Benítez, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with the collaboration of Alfonso Torres and musical animation by Acerina Show.
The festivities will conclude on Monday, September 14th. The day will begin with the ringing of bells and fireworks from the Church at 12:00 PM. At 8:00 PM, a Mass of Thanksgiving will be held, ending the celebrations with a shared contribution from attendees of what neighbors have brought.
