UD Las Palmas has secured two consecutive victories at the start of LaLiga Hypermotion, a feat not accomplished since the 1999-2000 season, coinciding with their 77th anniversary celebration.

The yellow team defeated AD Ceuta FC 0-2 this Saturday at the Alfonso Murube stadium, marking their second win in the two matchdays played so far. This streak had not been seen since the beginning of the 1999-2000 season.
Goals from Taisei Miyashiro and Manu Fuster in the match held in Ceuta allowed the team to match a record from 27 years ago. On August 21, 1999, with Sergio Kresic as coach, Unión Deportiva won the Canary Islands derby against CD Tenerife 2-0 at the old Estadio Insular, with goals from Luis García Tevenet (penalty) and David Pirri.
Eight days after that victory, on the second matchday of that season's calendar, Las Palmas overcame Real Sporting de Gijón at El Molinón by 1-2. The team came from behind after an initial goal by Tcheryshev, with a penalty converted by Tevenet and a direct free-kick by Eloy Jiménez.
That season concluded with Unión Deportiva's fifth historic promotion to the First Division, after twelve years away. Since then, and having completed 17 seasons in the silver category, the team had not started with a perfect six points again.
After their victory in Ceuta and their return to Gran Canaria from Tangier, the squad coached by Rubén de la Barrera awaits the completion of the second matchday to know their final standing in the league table, as they currently hold a provisional top spot.
